Winter 2013 in Devon

The weather in much of the south west of England over the winter has been cold with some considerable snowfall in Devon as these photographs attest.

Heavy rain has also been a factor with localised flooding in places around the time of New Year. The River Exe burst its bank in places including at Stoke Canon, north of Exeter, where some people had to be evacuated. Damage to roads in the area from landslips is believed to run into millions of Pounds.

Braunton in North Devon was again left under water as the River Caen burst its banks.

Exeter Airport received some heavy downpours but nothing on the scale of last November. Check our Exeter arrival and departure information for the latest news on flights into and out of Exeter.
