4 Sydney Place in Bath

4 Sydney Place, a Grade II listed house, was the house to which Jane Austen and her parents first moved when they left the rectory at Steventon to move to Bath in 1801. The Austens rented the house which was and is opposite Sydney Gardens. 4 Sydney Place was then at the very edge of town.
