Oddicombe Beach

Oddicombe Beach is one of the best beaches in the vicinity of Torquay and Babbacombe. A mixed sand and shingle beach at the foot of wooded, red sandstone cliffs.

There are spectacular views from the top of the cliffs at Babbacombe Downs, which can be reached either on foot or by the Babbacombe Cliff Railway, a funicular railway from Babbacombe Downs to Oddicombe Beach. The historic funicular dates from 1926 and is in operation from Easter until September 30. A single ticket is presently 1.10 GBP.

Oddicombe can be reached by bus #32 from Torquay. Parking is available about half a mile from the cliffs.
