Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is one of Britain's major airports outside of the big two of Heathrow and Gatwick serving the capital, London.

Manchester Airport (MAN) opened in 1938 and was originally called Ringway. The airport has two runways and three terminals, a railway station, bus station and extensive airport parking facilities. The airport connects quickly to the M56 motorway for onward travel and the airport is served by a number of the big car rental companies.

Manchester has international flights to North America, Asia (Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore), the Middle East (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar) and many European destinations. Domestic flights fly to Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Heathrow, Gatwick, Guernsey, Newquay, Plymouth).

Frequent trains from the airport connect with Manchester Piccadilly Station and there are direct trains to Blackpool, Bolton, Chester, Huddersfield, Leeds, Newcastle, Preston, Sheffield, York,
The Lake District and North Wales - with Arriva Train Wales.
