Dunster Castle

Dunster Castle was the residence of the Luttrell family for over 600 years. In fact, a castle has stood on the site for over 1000 years, since Norman times. The Domesday Book records a castle in this location in 1066. Dunster Castle was a royalist stronghold and was besieged from 1645-1646 during the Civil War. Today, Dunster Castle is managed by the National Trust.
