Radstock Museum

The Radstock Museum opened in 1999 and celebrates the social and industrial heritage of the Somerset Coalfield. The building occupied by the Radstock Museum used to be the Radstock Market Hall. Visitors to the Radstock Museum will learn about the lifestyle of the typical Somerset coalminer. The various displays highlight, among other things, the miners' difficult working conditions, the strictness of the Victorian era schools of the time, and the popular amusements of the miners including pigeon racing.
