Woodchester Park

Woodchester Park is the remains of an 18th and 19th century landscape park. The park includes a chain of 5 lakes. Visitors can enjoy waymarked trails through the enchanting landscape. Woodchester Park is now managed by the National Trust.

Visitors walking along the trail will encounter Woodchester Mansion (not National Trust). Woodchester Mansion was a creation of William Leigh in the then popular Gothic revival style. The construction of Woodchester Mansion was abandoned after Leigh's death in 1873 midway during its construction, and the mansion remains in its unfinished state.

Woodchester Park is 4 miles southwest of Stroud not far off the B4066. Visitors to Woodchester Park may also want to visit nearby Newark Park or try horse riding at Barton End Stables.
