Carfax Tower Oxford

Cardfax Tower (see below) in Oxford is all that remains of the 13th century St Martin's Church. Carfax Tower is 23 metres tall, and no taller building in central Oxford is allowed to be constructed. Visitors can climb the 99 steps to the top for a bird's eye view of Oxford. Mechanical figures on the tower called 'quarterboys' strike the quarter hour on bells.

Carfax Tower

Carfax Tower is located on the northwest corner of the Carfax crossroads in Oxford. Visitors to Carfax Tower may also want to visit the nearby Christ Church College, Christ Church Cathedral, or University Church of St Mary the Virgin.
