London Blackfriars Station

The platforms of the new London Blackfriars Station, part of the Thameslink Programme from Bedford to Brighton, span the River Thames near St. Paul's Cathedral, with the bridge built on the pillars of the existing Blackfriars rail bridge.

The roof of the £550 million station is made up of solar panels and the new London Blackfriars Station has other green features including rainwater recycling and sun pipes. The new Blackfriars Rail Bridge is claimed to be the longest solar bridge in the world.

The new London Blackfriars Station has entrances on both the north and south banks of the River Thames.

Blackfriars Underground station is on the Circle and District lines, situated between Temple and Mansion House.

Mainline Thameslink has trains from Bedford, St Albans City and Luton from the north with rail connections from Brighton, Sevenoaks and Sutton in the south.
