It's free to drop into the Visitors Centre, which has various exhibits related to the long history of Robinson's brewery in Stockport and an attached bar and restaurant, but if you have longer take one of the interesting brewery tours of the state-of-art brew house that has been recently installed on the premises.

The tour starts with an interesting video of the history of Robinson's, which now has around 360 pubs in the north west of England, before touring the brewery to see historic sides of the brewing process, side-by-side with modern machinery imported from Germany.

The tour of the brewey ends in the bar and restaurant where visitors can enjoy three, free drinks and sample some excellent cuisine, including the best fish and chips in Stockport.

Still family-owned and run, Robinson's began life in the 19th century as one of the many independent brewers in the town.
